The Match Rating is the rating used to calculate teams for best ball, 2-ball, and 3-ball matches. It is based on the average number of pars, birdies, eagles, etc. that the golfer makes during their rounds. The Match Rating is based on an average of a golfer's last 6 and last 30 rounds. This takes into account both overall scoring ability and recent trends in scoring. The match rating is weighted more heavily towards the number of birdies (3 points), eagles (6 points), and pars (1 point) a golfer makes during a match, since these scores are most likely to determine the winner of a hole during the match. It does not uses actual golf scores since many times during a match a golfer picks up or stops playing whan he is out of the hole. This reduces the effect of a golfer purposely "tanking" to lower his match rating.
The dogfight rating is the rating used to calculate teams for matches and individual competitions based on dogfight points.. The Dogfight Rating is based on an average of a golfer's last 6 and last 30 rounds. This takes into account both overall scoring ability and recent trends in scoring.
